abstract | The cell walls and cell membranes of the yeast cells are to be altered in a way that allows the passage of proteins up to a certain molecular weight after the 'pore-sieve effect', while larger cells are retained. The yeast cell culture consists of the strain HGY 51 (IMET 43912). The method is characterized in that yeast cells are treated with toluene and thiol compounds so that proteins whose molecular weight does not exceed 200 kDaltons are selectively released from the cells to the surrounding medium.
