abstract Phenolic resins are prepared intermittently in reactors and poured into pans in which they solidify in the air. In order to avoid the odor associated therewith, the surface of the liquid phenolic resin immediately after Abgieszen in the pans with a cryogenic medium, preferably liquid nitrogen, as long as applied until a thin layer of solidified phenolic resin has formed. This serves as a barrier for the resulting odorous gases and mashes.
