titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF 2-CARBOXYMETHYLSULFONYL-PROPANE-1,3-DISULFONATE
abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of * (sulfonylcarboxylic acid) of the general formula * which can be used as intermediates and as hydrotropes in microemulsion systems. According to the present invention, molar amounts of sodium allylsulfonate are reacted with chloroacetic acid and twice the molar amount of sodium bisulfite in the presence of a catalytic amount of peroxodisulfate, and the resulting reaction solution is converted to sulfonylcarboxylic acids of general formula (I) after addition of a catalytic iodide amount by heating. Formula (I) {* sulfonylcarboxylic acid; Intermediates; Hydrotropes in microemulsion systems; sodium allyl sulfonate; chloroacetic acid; sodium bisulfite; Peroxodisulfate as a catalyst; Iodide as a catalyst}
