abstract | The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for controlling a parameter in a wire electrode electroerosive cutting method, wherein at least one parameter is changed according to a predetermined cutting path when the wire electrode reaches the tip of an angle or approaches an arc. The method comprises the steps of: calculating the locations of the cutting path at which these changes must be made; Stop the relative movement between the wire electrode and the workpiece to be machined when the wire reaches one of these locations; gradual and gradual change of the parameter up to a designated final value or until a predetermined number of stages have been executed or within a given time interval; Resumption of the relative movement of a wire workpiece with the new value of the parameter on a distance determined in advance by calculation, and change of the parameter in the opposite sense as well as return of the parameter to its initial value. The duration of the steps is determined in advance or corresponds to the cutting of predetermined lengths along the cutting path.
