Process for the preparation of a highly disperse silicatic xerogel modified with methacrylate groups. The xerogel is suitable as an inorganic filling body for plastics, in particular for dental plastics whose organic matrix is based on methacrylic plastics. To prepare a gelling siliceous sol, a methacryloxypropyltrialkoxysilane is added in a 10 to 90% mixture with a solvent. This mixture is stirred for three hours. The methacrylate-modified gel is subsequently dried at 80 ° C. for about 50 hours and then subjected to a further 20-hour drying process at 120 to 250 ° C. {Xerogel, silicate, highly dispersed; methacrylate; Filler; Dental plastic} |
