abstract |
The invention relates to a process for the production of ubiquinone-8 by means of bacteria. According erfindungsgemaesz a chemostatically generated on methanol biomass of the bacterial strain Methylobacillus IMET no. 11070 further increased so that the substrate supply is always greater than can actually be consumed due to growth. The further propagation takes place according to the fed-batch principle, wherein it is particularly advantageous to terminate this phase after doubling the cell concentration by nitrogen limitation.
