abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of dinitrochlorobenzene mixtures, the starting materials for the preparation of dyes, photographic developers, antioxidants, rubber inhibitors; Aminochlorbenzen and Pikrinsaeuren and other intermediates are. The aim of the invention is the production of dinitrochlorobenzene mixtures with optimal profitability and better adaptation to the requirements of the market. The object of the invention is a process for the preparation of dinitrochlorobenzene mixtures having a melting point of 45 to 46.5C, which is adapted to the needs of the customer and which can be carried out in existing plants and using the cheapest resources available. According to the invention, a mixture of isomers of o-, m- and p-nitrochlorobenzene having a ratio of o-nitrochlorobenzene to p-nitrochlorobenzene such as 1 to 1.2 to 1 to 1.4 at 55 to 90C is reacted with nitrating acid for 4 to 6 hours until the resulting dinitrochlorobenzene mixture has a fixed point of 45 to 46.5C, wherein the nitrating acid is added dropwise in 60 to 90 minutes. {Dinitrochlorbenzene; Nitration; Mother liquor; p-nitro chlorobenzene; isomer}
