titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR OBTAINING COBALT FROM A NICKEL AND COBALT CONTAINING SOLUTION |
abstract | The invention relates to a process for recovering cobalt from a solution containing nickel and cobalt by precipitating a cobalt (III) compound. The aim is to obtain a low-nickel cobalt product in a simple and cost-effective way. According to the invention, a nickel-rich, cobalt-containing precipitate is precipitated by addition of an oxidizing agent and a precipitant, a partial amount of this precipitate is partially dissolved by means of acid, the solution obtained is dispersed with a further portion of the precipitate, and a cobalt-rich precipitate is separated, which is aftertreated with acid. The resulting cobalt residue is fed to the further processing on cobalt according to known steps. The process is cost-effective, provides reproducible results and guarantees a high Ni-Co separation effect. The process is preferably applicable to nasn-metallurgical nickel recovery in process stages of caustic purification. {Process; Recovery of cobalt; Ni and Co containing solution; Milling Co (III) compound; Redox system * * * nickel recovery} |
