titleOfInvention METHOD AND DEVICE FOR NONINVASIVELY DETERMINING THE OXIDATIVE METABOLIC CONDITION OF A CHILD BEFORE AND DURING THE BIRTH
abstract The invention is applicable in obstetrics for continuous monitoring of the child's oxygenation before and during childbirth. The aim of the invention is to provide a method for continuous monitoring of the oxidative metabolic state of a child before or during childbirth and to describe a device with which metabolic parameters are detected and evaluated. The object is achieved according to the invention by the non-invasive determination of the oxidative metabolic state of a child before and during birth on the preceding part of which one end of a light guide arrangement is placed as a probe, while at the other end of the light guide arrangement UV excitation light is fed from a suitable source or the UV light and fluorescent light returned from the child's skin are guided wavelength-selectively to sensitive optical receivers. The received by the receivers electronic signals are just like z. B. a signal that is proportional to the light intensity of the source, processed in a computer. This outputs the determined data for information of the obstetrician on a display unit. {Oxidative metabolic state; non-invasive determination; NADH 2-Oberflaechenfluoreszenz; Geburtenueberwachung; Optical fiber arrangement; Meszsonde}
