abstract The invention relates to processes for the preparation of 3-dialkyl (aryl) amino-5-phenyl-1,2,4-dithiazolium tetrahalometallates of the general formula. It is the task of making these sometimes thermochromic compounds in a technically simple and economically auspicious manner. The object is achieved by the oxidation of the corresponding 1,1-dialkyl (aryl) -3-thiobenzoyl thioureato-metallates with bromine in benzene or by double reaction of the 3-dialkylamino-5-phenyl-1,2,4-dithiazolium perchlorates with the corresponding tetraalkylammonium tetrahalometallates in acetonitrile. The proof of their structure was made chemically by reduction or hydrolysis. formula
