titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR OBTAINING HIGH-PURITY BRENCE CATECHIN |
abstract | The invention relates to a process for the continuous recovery of high-purity catechol from enriched melts from brown coal refining. A Hochbrenzcatechinhaltiges crude product having a seizure temperature of 425 K is supplied after cooling to 323-338 K in solidified form the head of a sump-heated crystallization column and passed in countercurrent to an ascending depleted melt, melted under heat absorption, passed lower melting impurities in the liquid phase and on Be withdrawn column head, while higher boiling components in crystalline phase go into the sump and the catechol is enriched according to its melting temperature at 378-383 K on a bottom of the crystallization column and withdrawn as a side stream. The higher melting ingredients of the crude product are kept at temperatures of 398-401 K by indirect heating in the sump melt liquor. If the crude product consists only of lower melting impurities and pyrocatechol, the sidestream decrease is eliminated, and the catechol is melt-liquefied in the sump at a temperature of 378-383 K to be set and withdrawn. The melt-liquefied pure catechol is then solidified by cooling under vacuum and discharged as a solidified crystallizate via a gas-tight lock. |
