titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR EXTRUSION OF HIGH-PURITY POLYOLEFINS |
abstract | The invention relates to a process for the extrusion of high purity polyolefins. The process is particularly used in the production and processing of high purity, polyolefin compositions containing extraneous materials with high melt temperatures in the range of 100 K and more above the VICAT temperature of the polyolefin to be processed and at a throughput through the extruder of 0.1 to 1.5 t / h. The cleaning effect is achieved by the combined promotion of polyolefin with at least 0.002 to a maximum of 0.5 wt .-% free water at the processing temperature through the extruder and by additional briefly increased water metering in concentrations of 1 to 7.5 Ma .-% during the Starting phase of the extruder and at intervals during processing after passing through the polyolefin from 100 to 200 t, but at least after 150 to 300 h operating time, so that less than 0.2% of the polyolefin is processed with increased water content over 1 wt .-%. |
