abstract The production of semisynthetic penicillins in stirring machines is critical, because the observance of the process parameters in a stirring machine in the micro range is not guaranteed. Yield and quality losses are the result. According to the invention, the preparation of semisynthetic penicillins, in particular azlocillin-Na salt, is subdivided into two differential steps which are separated in time and place from one another. In order to achieve azlocillin with a content greater than 95% and yields above 80%, a minimum energy dissipation in the neutralization according to the invention is necessary, which is expediently introduced by a centrifugal pump.
