abstract | The invention relates to the preparation of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-vinyl butyral terpolymers by reacting vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-vinyl alcohol terpolymers with butyraldehyde according to a simple procedure. The object is achieved by the invention that vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-vinyl alcohol terpolymers having 40 to 80% by weight of vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate of 1 to 20% and vinyl alcohol of 1 to 30% in the presence of acidic catalysts in heterogeneous phase, above the freezing point depression of butyraldehyde be implemented in the capillary system of the polymer. The reaction is started by feeding steam into the polymeric gel. The products can be processed into films. |
