titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF 7AH-CYCLOPENTA [B] PYRAN-7-ONEN
abstract The invention relates to the field of organic synthetic chemistry and has a method for the target, with the 7aH-cyclopenta-pyran-7-ones of the general formula III, in which R1, R2 and R3 are aryl radicals and R4 is an alkyl or aryl radical, can be obtained from easily accessible starting materials in a one-step process. It is an object of the present invention to prepare such 7aH-cyclopenta & b! Pyran-7-ones from suitably substituted pyrylium salts. The object is achieved in accordance with the invention by using pyrylium salts of the formula I in which R 1, R 2 and R 3 are aryl radicals and X is any anion with 1,2-diketones of the formula II in which R 4 is an alkyl or aryl radical, Presence of a condensing agent, which may be a dialkylamine salt of a weak acid, an equimolar mixture of trialkylamine and a weak acid or an alkali metal salt of a weak acid, while using as solvents lower alcohols, halohydrocarbon or suitable dipolar aprotic solvents such as acetonitrile, dimethylformamide or Dimethyl sulfoxide, used and temperatures up to the boiling point of the reaction mixture applies. Type III compounds can be used as dyes as well as synthetic intermediates.
