abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of organoalkoxysilylbenzoic acids and their derivatives, which are applicable as intermediates for active ingredients, pharmaceuticals and polymer additives. The object of the invention is to develop a simple and as a one-pot reaction executable synthesis route to this class of compounds. It has been found that organoalkoxysilyl halobenzoate is converted with sodium or magnesium in aprotic solvents into organoalkoxysilyl benzoates and these are then reacted with acids, alkyl halides, dialkyl sulfates or organoelement halides to give the title compounds of the general formula. Under the influence of water, these compounds hydrolyze to OrganosilanolylbenzoesÄuren, which can condense to OrganosiloxanylbenzoesÄuren. formula
