titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR PREPARING 2-METHYL-5,6-DIHYDRO-PYRAN-3-CARBOXYLIC ACID ESTERS
abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of 2-methyl-5,6-dihydro-pyran-3-carboxylic acid esters, which are used in the pharmaceutical industry as valuable intermediates application. The object of the invention, a technically simple method for preparing the target compounds without the use of expensive condensing agent is achieved by the acetoacetate in a preferably aprotic dipolar solvent or a solvent mixture of such a solvent and a preferably inert organic solvent with 1,3-dihaloalkanes in the presence of alkali metal hydroxide.
