abstract The invention relates to a stabilizer for stabilizing styrene-containing thermoplastic polymers against thermal and thermo-oxidative degradation. It is applicable to all known thermoplastically processable styrene-containing polymers. The proposed stabilizer consists of an overwhelming proportion of 2,4-di-tert.amylphenol and / or 2,4,6-tri-tert.amylphenol on the one hand and 2,6-di-tert-butyl-p-cresol on the other hand. The stabilizing effect of 2,6-di-tert-butyl-p-cresol is fully retained in these mixtures. A combination with the usual auxiliary stabilizers and sunscreen stabilizers is possible.
