The method concerns the recovery of ruthenium from solid precursors by alkaline melt digestion by precipitating ruthenium oxide hydrate from the resulting digestion solution, from which impurities are dissolved by noncomplexing acid and which is converted with complexing acid in the absence of an oxidizing agent into a solution from which excess is added Remove acid by distillation, in which ruthenium is converted into the tetravalent state and which is subsequently given off to a cation exchanger, preferably based on a crosslinked polystyrene having sulfonic acid groups. After passing through the exchanger, ruthenium can be recovered from the solution by well-known measures in a desired final form with a purity of 98%. |
