titleOfInvention | CATIONACTIVE PARAFFINDISPERSION FOR PAPER MANUFACTURE |
abstract | The cationic paraffin dispersion for papermaking according to the invention is used for the treatment of paper with the aim of reducing the water absorption capacity, without impairing the tear strength of the paper. At the same time an improvement of the dimensional stability, the gloss and the printability of the paper as well as a saving of rosin is achieved. According to the invention, oxidized starch is incorporated in amounts between 1 and 5% in paraffin dispersions containing quaternized aminoalcohol esters of long-chain fatty acids and ethoxylated fatty amines as emulsifiers. There are liquid, highly concentrated and finely divided dispersions obtained, the application of paper with the required beneficial effects. |
