abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of pure lead trimetaphosphate by precipitation reaction from Bleinitrat- and Natriumtrimetaphosphatloesung. This lead trimetaphosphate is mainly used for the production of special optical glasses and is characterized by high purity, defined composition and homogeneous structure. The aim of the invention is to develop a technically usable production process for the production of pure lead trimetaphosphate mentioned specification. According to the invention, this pure product is obtained by metering stoichiometric amounts of a 0.1m-0.35m sodium trimetaphosphate solution within 3-12 minutes to a 0.15m-0.45mg of lead nitrate solution using free nitric acid in the lead nitrate solution during pulping a p H-value1 is set.
