abstract | The invention relates to a process for the preparation of novel aralkylimidazole derivatives. According to the invention, 1-phenyl-lower alkylimidazole-4 and / or 5-carboxamides of the formula (I) are prepared in which Ph is phenyl substituted by lower alkyl and / or halogen, alk is lower alkylidene, one of the radicals R1 and R2 is optionally lower alkyl or lower alkanoyl substituted carbamyl and the other is hydrogen, lower alkyl or optionally substituted by lower alkyl or lower alkanoyl carbamyl and R3 is hydrogen or lower alkyl.
