titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR ETHANOL PRODUCTION BY USING NON-ACCHAROMYCETES |
abstract | The invention relates to a process for the production of ethanol by fermentation of carbohydrate-containing raw materials. According to the invention, a yeast of the species Candida tropicalis which was previously not used in alcohol production is used to ferment a substrate, preferably grain mashes, under anaerobic conditions. In this case, ethanol yields are achieved, which are at the level or above the level of practically achievable with Saccharomyces strains yields, while reducing the specific cooling costs. |
