The invention relates to a new, improved method of controlling plant nematodes. According to the invention, a nematocidal effective amount of the fermentation broth or whole mash of the microorganism Streptomyces cyaneogriseus noncyanogenus with the accession accession number NRRL 15773 is applied to the foliage of plants, to the soil in which they grow or in their stems.
