abstract | The invention relates to the circulation mode of the chloromethylation reaction of vinyl aromatic polymers, which is carried out for the preparation of anion exchangers. The object was to use the catalyst in a technically and technologically easy to handle form in a simple manner. According to the invention, the object has been achieved by adding the FeCl 3 in the form of a 20 to 45% aqueous solution to the regeneration batch of used monochlorodimethyl ether, washing methanol from the chloromethylate and formaldehyde in an amount which is sufficient to set a FeCl 3 concentration of 0.5 to 30 g FeCl3 / l in the regenerated Monochlordimethylether is necessary. |
