titleOfInvention METHOD FOR CONVERTING GUELLE FLUIDITY IN SINGLE-CELL PROTEIN
abstract Process for the conversion of guelle liquid in single cell protein by aerobic fermentation. The invention can be applied in Guelleaufbereitungsanlagen in which the Guellefluessigkeit is freed before their Verregnung on agricultural land from umweltbeeintraechtigenden substances and at the same time a protozoan protein is obtained. The aim of the invention is to convert the guelle liquid at high speed in single cell protein without additional carbon source in modern high-performance fermentors. It is the task to select and use appropriate tools that cause an increase in the turnover speed of the guelle liquid. According to the invention, the object is achieved by adding copper as EDTA complex salt in an amount of 0.01 to 0.1 mg / l before or during the fermentation of the guelle liquid. With the process according to the invention, the conversion of the poorly biodegradable organic substances is accelerated and, with a residence time of 3 hours, the guelle liquor in the fermentor achieves a degradation of about 90% of the organic substances, compared with only about 60% by known processes.
