titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR PREPARING 3,5-DIARYL-BENZOESAEURE ESTERS |
abstract | The invention relates to the field of organic synthesis chemistry and has a process for the goal, with the substituted benzoic acid ester of general formula III, in which R1 and R2 aryl radicals and R4 is an alkyl or aralkyl radical, recovered from readily available starting materials in a one-step process can be. The invention has for its object to produce such Benzoesaeureester from suitable substituted Pyryliumsalzen. The object is achieved according to the invention by reacting 1 molar equivalent of the formula I in which R 1, R 2 and R 3 are aryl radicals and X is an arbitrary anion with an excess of preferably 2-5 molar equivalents of pyruvic acid ester of the formula II in which R 4 is an alkyl radical - or aralkyl, in the presence of 1 molar equivalent of a condensing agent, which may be a dialkylamine salt of a weak acid, an equimolar mixture of trialkylamine and a weak acid or a weak acid alkali salt, in solvents such as lower alcohols, halohydrocarbon or dipolar aprotic solvents while applying temperatures up to the boiling point of the reaction mixture. Type III compounds can be used as organic intermediates. |
