titleOfInvention | METHOD OF EXPRESSING BACTERIA FROM SUSPENSIONS |
abstract | The invention relates to a process for the removal of bacteria from suspensions. The aim of the invention is to bail bacteria out of suspensions in such a way that no or only little more liquid is introduced into the suspensions, the precipitation proceeds at lower temperatures and that the proportion of ash in the biomass does not increase significantly. According to the invention, the object is achieved by causing flocculation by treating a suspension with hexamethylenetetramine at 0 to 70C. An addition of acids or the application of the corresponding salts also causes the Ausfaellung. The coagulum formed can be separated from the aqueous phase by known methods such as filtration or separation. The invention can be used to recover bacterial biomass. |
