abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of 4-hydroxy-D 2 -pyrazolin-5-ones (formula). The aim of the invention is a simple and economic synthesis. The relevant technical problem is achieved according to the invention by reacting the unsubstituted or monosubstituted in the 4-position pyrazolin-5-ones (formula) with phenols and suitable dehydrating agents in solution and / or suspension predominantly at room temperature to 50C. The process according to the invention is applicable to the preparation of intermediates for organic syntheses.
