titleOfInvention | NON-ISOTROPER, ORGANIC PLUS NON-ORGANIC FIBER COMPOUND AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF |
abstract | The invention relates to a non-organic / polymeric fiber composite or non-organic / polymeric composite fibers. The composite fiber is composed of non-organic particulate matter bonded to an organic polymer in fiber form and is prepared by vigorously grinding or shearing a mixture of non-organic particulate matter and organic precursor particles for the polymer at elevated temperature. Many non-organic substances can be used, with valve metal oxides being particularly suitable. The organic polymer fiber is advantageously derived from a fluorine-containing polymer. The composite fibers can serve as a filter, for example as a filter pack material for Saeulenchromatographie or can be used for separations z. B. battery separations are suitable. The fiber can be compressed or compressed and sintered, making it useful for bearings and seals. When the fiber is used as a separator, the separator is preferably a diaphragm for use in electrolytic cells for the production of chlorine and alkali hydroxide. |
