abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of 1,2,4-oxa-diazolin-3-one derivatives of general formula I, wherein R1, R2, m and n have the meaning given in the description. A process for producing the compound (I) comprises reacting a compound of the general formula III with a compound of the general formula (VIII) in the presence of a trivalent phosphorus compound. The compounds of formula I exhibit exceptional insecticidal and fungicidal activity and are useful as active ingredients in insecticides and fungicides for agriculture and horticulture.
