abstract | Method for determining the ploidy levels of yeast populations, applicable to taxonomic-diagnostic and genetic studies, but also in the process control of technical fermentation processes, with the aim of shortening the sample preparation times and increasing the accuracy. The object of the invention is to carry out the ploid determination on yeast populations with high resolubility by means of rapid DNA-specific fluorochromatization and suitable flow microfluorometric measurements. According to the invention, the object is achieved by specifying a specially formulated method of fluorochromization with olivomycin and by determining the ploidy level of the sample from comparative flow microfluorometric measurements on the sample and a reference strain of known ploidy. |
