abstract The invention provides a process for the preparation of 1,4-dihydropyridines of the following general formula (I), wherein the abovementioned substituents have the meanings given here. The compounds of the invention are pharmacologically active. They have, inter alia, antihypertensive effect and inhibit platelet aggregation and thromboxane synthetase. The compounds obtainable according to the invention can therefore be used in particular for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, in particular for the treatment of thromboses. Formula I
