titleOfInvention MOUNTING FOR ARTIFICIAL EYE LENS
abstract The invention relates to the attachment of plastic implants (Pseudophakos) in the posterior capsular bag of the lens for optical correction of the eye after removal of the dull eye lens in cataracts. The aim of the invention is the attachment of the artificial eye lens so that a mechanical stress on the tissue of the iris is largely avoided, a low surgical effort for fixing the lens is necessary and a displacement of the artificial eye lens is excluded after surgery. According to the invention, the holder for an artificial eye lens results from a plastic implant, consisting of a plano-convex optic with a diameter of about 5.5 to 6.0 mm, which is embedded centrally in a supporting rim on which small holes are located at regular intervals a non-toxic resorbable tissue adhesive is applied which fixes the implant to the posterior capsular bag of the eye.
