abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of novel pyridine derivatives having valuable pharmacological properties for use as medicaments. The aim of the invention is to provide novel compounds having a blocking effect on the entry of calcium into the vascular and cardiac muscle, which have better selectivity, have a longer duration, can be more easily formulated and absorbed and have lower undesirable side effects than known compounds of similar structure. According to the invention, compounds of the formula I are prepared in which, for example: R1 is benzofurazanyl, pyridyl or phenyl; -COOR2 and -COOR3 different ester groups; Y and Z together form a bond; R7 and R8 are alkyl C1 to 6 substituted phenyl, halogen, alkoxy C1 to 6 Nitro u. a.
