titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR CONTINUOUS GAINING OF HYDROCARBON BIOMASS |
abstract | The present invention relates to a process for the cultivation of microorganisms on liquid hydrocarbons. The object of the invention is characterized in that the number of budding cells is used as a growth-characterizing quantity in order to keep the amount of hydrocarbons formed and present in the yeasts at a low level at a certain degree of conversion of the paraffins. The basis of these relationships is the recognition of the dependence of the extract levels present in the yeasts on the rate of growth. According to the invention, a small amount of extract is always achieved when the number of budding cells is between 18 and 50% with a residual amount of paraffin in the fermented ED of between 20 and 40% corresponding to a degree of utilization of at most 80% and a residence time of preferably between 3 and 5 hours. |
