| abstract |
A process for the isolation of higher boiling polyamines from the reaction products of the amination of monoethanolamine by combining a distillation column with one or two series-connected dilute layer evaporators. In the distillation column at a top pressure of less than 6.7 kPA AEP over head and HEEDA is separated as steam side stream and the bottom product passed through the thin film evaporator and separated at a pressure of less than 1.33 kPa in TETA and HEDETA. Due to this thermally gentle way of separating the higher polyamines, no decomposition phenomena and residue formations occur at these low residence times. |
