titleOfInvention | METHOD OF OBTAINING UBICHINONES |
abstract | The invention relates to a process for the cost-effective production of ubiquinones from microbial biomass. The object of the invention is to obtain ubiquinones completely and as selectively as possible from microbial biomass by exploiting the different solubilities of microbial lipids in organic solvents. According to the invention, the object is achieved by extracting ubiquinone with a solvent mixture consisting of acetone and a water addition of 5 to 15%, preferably from the biomass, and from the ubiquinone-enriched lipid extract, which contains 90% of the ubiquinone occurring in the biomass, with reduced expenditure can be obtained by known methods. |
