titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF RARE-DOXIDE-HALOGENIDES AND RARE-DODGE-HALOGENIDE-LUMINOUS SUBSTANCES |
abstract | The invention relates to a process for the preparation of rare earth oxide halides and rare earth oxide halide phosphors. The aim and object is to provide a process for the preparation of well-crystallized rare earth oxide halides, in particular of corresponding high-efficiency rare earth oxide halide phosphors and favorable physical-chemical properties adapted to the respective application. This is achieved by carrying out the reaction of one or more rare earth oxides or a mixed oxide or one or more rare earth oxalates or a mixed oxalate in the temperature range from 650 to 1400 K with solid ammonium bromide or in an ammonium halide-containing atmosphere. Subsequently, a recrystallization of the resulting rare earth oxide halides or of the rare earth oxide halide fluorescent materials took place at temperatures of from 1055 to 1500 K in the presence of rare earth trihalide painkillers. After completion of the recrystallization, the required rare earth trihalide fluxes are removed or converted to rare earth halide phosphors. |
