titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF L-PHENYLALANINE BY RE-USE OF PHENYLALANINE-AMMONIA-KLYASE |
abstract | The invention relates to a process for the preparation of L-phenylalanine by reacting t-cinnamic acid with an ammonium ion source to form a substrate solution, adjusting the p H value of the substrate solution and contacting the substrate solution with phenylalanine ammonia lyase as the catalyst. The object of the invention is to provide an improved process by which L-phenylalanine can be produced in high yield, maintaining a high degree of activity of the phenylalanine ammonia lyase and reusing the catalyst. In the present invention, substantially halogen-free ammonium salts, for example, ammonium sulfate, are used as the ammonium ion source. To set the p H value of the substrate solution, a substantially halogen-free acid, for example sulfuric acid, is used according to the invention. |
