The invention relates to a process for the preparation of 4-nitrodiphenylamines. The aim of the invention is to provide an improved process with which the desired compounds can be obtained in a short time and with high purity and yield. According to the invention, 4-nitrodiphenylamines of the formula I in which R 1, R 2, R 3 and R 4 are identical or different and represent hydrogen or an alkyl radical having 1 to 9 carbon atoms by reacting 4-nitrohalobenzenes with primary alcohols aromatic amines in the presence of potassium carbonate and copper compounds prepared by adding rubidium or cesium compounds or mixtures of both the reaction mixture. |
