A process is described for preparing the antibiotic complex A41030, the factors A, B, C, D, E, F or G thereof or the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof by cultivating Streptomyces virginiae NRRL 15156 or NRRL 12525 or antibiotic A 41030 binding variant or mutant thereof in a culture assimilation source for carbon, nitrogen and inorganic salts, under submerged aerobic fermentation conditions until formation of a substantial amount of antibiotic activity and subsequent separation of the complex thus obtained into the culture respective factors or conventional conversion into pharmaceutically acceptable salts. These products are valuable antimicrobial agents. |
