abstract | A process for preparing antibiotically active macrolides having the formula resulting from the formula sheet, wherein R represents a monocyclic, bicyclic or tricyclic saturated or unsaturated ring having a nitrogen atom as a single heteroatom which may optionally be substituted by lower alkyl, hydroxy, di-lower alkylamino, lower alkoxycarbonyl, optionally substituted Phenyl, benzyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkanoyloxy, halo, halo-lower alkyl, cyano or ethylenedioxy, R is highly hydrogen or a hydroxy protecting group, R is highly hydrogen, optionally substituted lower alkanoyl, phenylacetyl, phenylpropionyl or benzoyloxy, R is hydrogen , Iodine, hydroxy, optionally substituted lower alkanoyloxy, benzoyloxy, phenylacetoxy, phenoxyacetoxy or mycarotyloxy, and R 4 represents a substituted oxygen-containing six-membered ring, by per se known reduction of a corresponding Henden compound which is substituted in position 19 by CHO in the presence of an amine of the formula HR or by other known per se. A preferred compound which can be prepared hereinafter is 20-DH-DO-20- (3-azabicycol (3.2.2) nonan-3-yl) desmycosin. |
