Basic 10-substituted-5,5-dimethyl-5,10-dihydro-benzo (b) (1,8) naphthyridines d. general formula I can be prepared by cyclization of 2-phenylamino-3- (1'-methyl-1'-hydroxy-ethyl) -pyridinen of general formula II to 5,5-dimethyl-5,10-dihydrobenzo (b) ( 1,8) naphthyridines of the general formula III by means of Lewis acids and subsequent reactions of the resulting compounds of the general formula III with esters of basic alcohols of the general formula IV in inert organic solvents and in the presence of basic condensing agents. The compounds of the general formula I have antirheumatic properties. |
