abstract New N-acylated 4,4-bis (4'-fluorophenyl) butyl and butenyl amides of general formula I wherein R is high 1 hydrogen, halogen or O-alkyl, R is high hydrogen or halogen, R is hydrogen , Halogen, NH deep 2 or CN, R 4 highly and R 5 either both hydrogen or both together an additional CC bond and X is CH or N, can be prepared by reacting a carboxylic acid derivative of general formula II with an amine of the general formula III in which R is 1, R is high 2, R is high 3, R is high 4, R is high and X has the abovementioned meaning and Y is chlorine or O-alkyl. The compounds of general formula I have neuroleptic properties and are useful in the treatment of mental illnesses.
