titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR PREPARING C22- (3'-OXO-PROP-L-EN-L-YL) -CARDENOLIDES
abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of C22- (3'-oxo-prop-1'-en-1'-yl) -cardenolides of the general formula I (cf Appendix), which can be used in the pharmaceutical industry. The aim of the invention is to introduce a multiply conjugated system incorporating the lactone ring into cardiac active steroids. According to the invention, 22-allyl cardenolides are oxidized in dioxane with selenium dioxide at boiling heat (ratio cardenolide: selenium dioxide = 1: 7.5,). The compounds I prepared (R = COCH 3 and I (R = (D-digitoxose) & ind 3) show a relatively good inhibiting activity in the ATPase test.
