titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR FIXING ARSENIC COMPOUNDS IN THE CEMENT
abstract Arsenic-containing waste products containing calcium fluoride or by mixing the corresponding separately produced waste products are co-processed in the Portland cement clinker production in order to fix the arsenic compounds in the cement and thus better account for environmental protection. For this purpose, a product filled with calcium hydroxide or other calcium compounds and containing various arsenic compounds, as well as calcium fluoride-containing product or prepared by mixing corresponding separately occurring waste products, is admixed with a normal cement raw meal. This cement raw meal is processed in the usual way to Portland cement clinker. The exhaust gases of the firing process contain no more arsenic than when using an undoped raw meal. The arsenic compounds are fixed in the cement, which is confirmed by Laugeversuche. The method is applicable in all those cases where obtained with calcium hydroxide or other calcium compounds gefaellte, arsenic and fluorine compounds or formed in separate segregation by subsequent mixing products formed whose landfill for environmental reasons is not possible.
