abstract |
Pure tert.-olefins are prepared from hydrocarbon mixtures containing at least one such tert.-olefin, by reaction with an alkanol to the corresponding alkyl tert-alkyl ethers and subsequent splitting back of these ethers into the corresponding pure tert.-olefins and the Alkanol and separation of pure tert-olefins produced by alkanol. In this case, the alkanol obtained after cleavage of the ether is separated by distillation from the tert-olefin to 60 to 99% by weight, and the remaining amount of alkanol which has passed into the olefin fraction is removed by absorption from this fraction on a synthetic ion exchanger as the absorber resin. The admixing of the alkanol to the hydrocarbon mixture with at least one tertiary-olefin is done in part by using the obtained in the separation of pure tert-olefin alkanol fraction and partly by desorption of the alkanol from the adsorber resin with the help of at least 1 tert.
