abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of 6-hydroxy-2- (4-hydroxyphenyl) -3- (4- (2-aminoethoxy) benzoyl) benzo (b) thiophenes, the physiologically acceptable ethers or esters thereof or the physiologically acceptable Acid addition salts thereof, said compounds being substituted at their amino group by either C 1 to C 4 deep alkyl or this amino group is C 1 to C 4 deep C 6-polymethylene, (CH 2 deep) 2 O (CH 2 ) deep 2- or -CH deep 2 CH (CH deep 3) CH deep 2 CH deep 2-ring bileet by placing a corresponding p-aminoethoxybenzoyl halide or active ester derivative thereof in position 3 of a corresponding 6-hydroxy-2- (4 This method makes it possible to prepare the compounds in question in a particularly high yield. The compounds obtainable thereafter are suitable for estrogenic, antioestrogenic and antiandrogenic therapy. An example of such a compound is 6-hydroxybenzoic acid. (2- 4-hydroxyphenyl) -3 thiophene (4- (2-piperidinoethoxy) benzoyl) benzo (b).
