titleOfInvention MATERIAL FOR A HARD GUM PROTECTIVE LAYER AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF
abstract The invention relates to a material for a hard rubber protective layer and a method for its production. The aim and object of the invention is to develop a flexible, homogeneous, chemically and thermally resistant material that is so resistant to distortion that even in the temperature range from 0 grd C to about -20 grd C normal transport and installation work without the risk of occurrence can be made by stress cracks. The material of the present invention contains a little unsatured elastomer such as ethylene-propylene terpolymer or butyl rubber in proportions of 15 to 20 parts by weight and a cyclohexanone-formaldehyde resin in proportions of 3 to 8 parts by weight based on each 100 parts by weight of the base elastomer. The method for producing the material is characterized in that, in order to achieve the required flexibility of the vulcanizate, the addition of the low unsaturation elastomer takes place in the first phase of the preparation of the material mixture. The invention can be applied in the field of production of corrosion protection liners for apparatus, pipes and steel structures, in particular in the chemical industry and in water treatment.
